SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rotorcraft. Rotorcraft 10 has rotor 11, gas turbine engine 13, main gearbox engaged with rotor and engine to allow the latter to drive the former. Engine incorporates free turbine 132 engaged with main gearbox via shaft (15, 15a, 15b, 16, 18). Besides, it incorporates extra external compressor 19 to be driven by free turbine 132 or motor. Said compressor 19 is communicated with the engine via channel 21 to compressed feed air to engine inlets 22. External compressor may comprises one or several vaned wheels. Heat exchanger may be arranged in channel 21. Besides, rotorcraft may comprises two engines and two external compressors.
EFFECT: increased power output with no modification of rotorcraft engine.
