SUBSTANCE: method involves steps for: predicting a frequency characteristic for each of a plurality of possible locations of a device; measuring the frequency characteristic in the actual location of the device; and comparing the measured frequency characteristic with one of the predicted frequency characteristics to determine the assumed location of the device, wherein the assumed location of the device corresponds to the possible location of the device associated with one of the predicted frequency characteristics which best matches the measured frequency characteristic. Disclosed also is a device which realises said method and a vehicle.
