SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for trilateration using communication line forecasting within line of sight (LOS) and route filtering within LOS. The disclosed trilateration method involves receiving a signal on each of a plurality of LOS routes and predicting efficiency of each of the LOS routes, filtering the signals received on the LOS routes, with efficiency lower than a given threshold value. The disclosed method can further involve performing trilateration using unfiltered signals to essentially determine the location of the communication device.
