SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and an apparatus for generating data for controlling a self-driving car (SDC). The method includes: i) receiving a section of the road map corresponding to the surroundings of the SDC and at least one object, ii) generating a set of predicted trajectories, including the points of potential future location of at least one object, iii) superimposing the points of potential future location on the section of the road map, iv) calculating an estimate for each of the points of potential future location, wherein the estimate constitutes the relation of each point of potential future location with the set of traffic lanes at a future point in time, v) calculating a combined estimate from the estimates corresponding to the points of potential future location, and vi) based on the combined estimate, determining the predicted location of at least one object at a future point in time. The apparatus ensures implementation of the method.

EFFECT: safe manoeuvre is performed.
