SUBSTANCE: musical instrument includes a system of interconnected sound-extraction units, wherein each unit is meant for generating one fundamental audio frequency and is matched on that frequency with audio frequencies generated by other units. The number of sound-extraction units, the principle of their matching on generated audio frequencies, the labelling of the units on the instrument and spatial arrangement in the system of sound-extraction units are determined based on obtaining such a discrete set of monochromatic sounds, which forms a pentagramic Fibonacci-step musical pitch based on the geometric progression with a Fibonacci number of terms of that progression and coefficient of progression k equal to the square of the golden section φ, where φ=(1+5^1.5)/2. The ratios of audio frequencies of neighbouring sound-extraction units in the give pitch are irrational numbers, expressed through the value of the golden section.

EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of the musical instrument by creating a system of sound-extraction units, based on use of a new type of musical pitch for crating compositions with new melodic and harmonic solutions.
