SUBSTANCE: mobile station handover from a maintenance basic station to a target basic station in a system of mobile communication supporting both a handover initiated by a mobile station and a handover initiated by a basic station, is coordinated both in the case of the handover initiated by the basic station and in case of the handover initiated by the mobile station, by means of information exchange between the mobile station and the basic station, or by means of a MO_BSHO-REQ message sent from the basic station to the mobile station in case of handover, initiated by the basic station, or by means of the MO_MSHO-REQ message sent from the mobile station to the basic station in case of handover initiated by the mobile station, with indication of the target basic station for realisation of an attempt of a mobile station handover; at the same time the mobile station sends an information message (MOB_HO-IND) with indication of a basic station, towards which a handover attempt was made.

EFFECT: reduced instability of a system, when functions of a handover initiated by a basic station are activated in a system.
