FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: amount of polymerised acrylonitrile is equal to 10-50 wt % based on the weight of the styrene and acrylonitrile copolymer. The infrared radiation damping agent is selected from carbon black and graphite. The foam plastic is extruded polymer foam plastic and is free from an array of bubbles on the surface, which is characteristic of granular foam plastic. Described is a method of producing foam plastic by extrusion, where extrusion pressure in the extruder is higher than after extrusion from the extruder. Foaming takes place after extrusion of the foaming composition from the extruder. The polymer foam plastic can be used between two regions which can be distinguished by temperature.

EFFECT: high dimensional integrity of the polymer foam plastic based on a styrene and acrylonitrile copolymer and an infrared radiation damping agent at high temperatures.
