FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: drive mechanism to be used in a drug delivery device comprises a body, a drive element, a piston rod and a rotator. The body has proximal and distal ends. The drive element is provided in the body and longitudinally moves and nonrotating about it. The piston rod is nonrotating about the body and operates in the body to transfer the longitudinal force onto the distal end of the drug delivery device. The rotator is engaged and released with the piston rod and engaged with the drive element, and engaged with the body. The rotator is specified in a group consisting of a clamp carrying arrest stops, and a tooth wheel; a clamp carrying arrest stops and a lever; and a lever assembly. When the drive element moves in a proximal direction with respect to the body, the rotator moves in a proximal direction with respect to the piston rod. When the drive element moves in a distal direction, the rotator moves in a distal direction thereby moving the piston rod towards the distal end of the device. An assembly available in the drug delivery device comprises said drive mechanism. The drug delivery device comprises said drive mechanism or said assembly. Said drug delivery device is applicable for medical product delivery. A method for manufacturing or assembling said drug delivery device involves the stage of providing said drive mechanism or said assembly. For actuation of the mechanism according to the presented invention requires reduced force for mechanism actuation, besides the drive mechanism according to the presented invention additionally provides an advantage of intuitive and simple dose setting.
EFFECT: usability in the drug delivery devices, particularly in ball-pen syringes which can apply a certain amount of pre-set doses of a medical product.
