FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and may be used for drilling holes. Rotary cutting tool comprises cutting head at its cutting end provided with cutting part that has two opposed grooves with additional rear surfaces arranged there between. Every said additional rear surface has two edges made up of front and rear edges subject to sense of rotation of the tool. Main and additional margins are spaced apart on every additional rear surfaces and feature, in fact, constant diameter of auxiliary cutting edges over the entire length of cutting part. Main margin adjoins the front edge. Head cutting edge extends inward from front edge of every auxiliary rear surface to inner end. Web is formed by the line connecting inner end of every cutting edge. Note here that, is seen along central axis, said web forms web angle with the line extending radially inward from front edge of auxiliary rear surface to web center point. Said angle varies from 80 to 100 degrees.
EFFECT: stabilised position in cutting.
