FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed mill comprises shank and cutting section. Cutting edge is shaped to screw line with axially- and radially-variable pitch. Said screw line is described by set of equations including Cartesian coordinates of cutting edge points, amplitude of points, polar radius of mill axial profile, and cutting edge inclination angle. Mill axial profile consists of straight lines, 2nd-order curves or splines. Front surface represents screw surface with constant face angle at every point of cutting edge. Position radius of face surface generatrix depends on polar angle in face cross-section, face angle and mill maximum radius.
EFFECT: higher quality of milling.
