FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 1,3,5-tris-(2'diethylbenzyl ammonioethyl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-trione tribromide (isociuronium bromide), a nondepolarising muscle relaxant used in medicine and veterinary. The method, which is based on use of readily available material, involves reaction of cyanuric chloride with 2-diethylaminoethanol in the presence of a hydrogen chloride acceptor: 2-diethylaminoethanol or aqueous solutions of inorganic bases, and the obtained 1,3,5-tris-(2'-diethylaminoethyl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-trione is separated via vacuum distillation and then quaternised with benzyl bromide.
EFFECT: method is easily realised in industrial conditions and enables to obtain the end product with high output and purity.
