FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to adaptation of quantity of transmitting antennas based on requirements of wireless communication system users. Such opportunity to adapt quantity of antenna ports in a setting provides for opportunity to a basic station (stations) to intellectually balance requirements of existing UE and new UE (for instance, LTE-A) for general efficient operation of a wireless system taken as a whole (for instance, increased efficiency for new users is a counterweight for reduction of efficiency for existing users). Accordingly resources, which are usually reserved for a reference signal (RS), connected with an antenna port, may be released, when similar ports of the antenna are not announced for UE as a part of functioning of a wireless system.
EFFECT: efficient use of system resources.
