SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to water treatment. The water treatment composition contains an active component and a base, where the active component is a liquid organic compound in form of oil, and the base is a ceramic or solid organic compound selected from a group comprising wax, fat, plastic, lubricant substances and mixtures thereof. Said active component is essentially insoluble in water. The group of inventions also relates to a water treatment method, involving addition of said water treatment composition to water.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides water treatment and enables to maintain water purity for a long period of time.
