FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of hydrocarbons, particularly, to cleaning natural gas intended for production of ethylene oxide by ethylene catalytic oxidation. Natural gas is cleaned of heavy hydrocarbons and sulfur-bearing compounds by adsorption. Absorbent carbon is used to this end. Adsorption cleaning is performed in two-phase conditions with recovery of used adsorbent by inert gas, for example, nitrogen heated by dead steam forced through used adsorbent bed in counterstream with natural gas. Then, recovered adsorbent is subjected to natural cooling.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
