FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture. The area of the receiving cap, the set length of cutting of the plant material, the number of rows of blades of the grinding drum, the density of the layer of the plant material and the angular velocity of the grinding drum is measured when the current load operation mode of the fodder harvester. The power taken from the engine to the drive and work of the working bodies is measured. According to the measured data the current value of the ultimate capacity of the fodder harvester is determined. The database of the current values of parameters of work of the harvester when harvesting different forage crops is formed at fixed length of cutting the plant material. The maximum amount of carrying capacity of the fodder harvester is determined using experimental data and regularity of the parameters ratios derived from the properties of similarity of load operation modes of the fodder harvester.
EFFECT: proposed method enables to obtain the value of the maximum amount of carrying capacity of the fodder harvester, required to justify the reasonable acquisition and efficient use of the interacting machines within technological systems.
