FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of training sniffer dogs, and can be used for training and placement of the smell of dogs of dog services used for search of the smell of improvised explosive devices on the basis of nitrogen containing compounds. The simulator comprises an inert carrier, on the surface of which the odor substance is applied. A mixture of aluminium powder or dust and nitrogen fertilisers containing ammonium nitrate with a nitrogen content of at least 34 wt % is used as the odor substance.
EFFECT: invention enables the ability of sustainable memorisation by a dog of the smell of explosives, and it contains no superpotent and narcotic substances, it is safe to operate, does not require special storage conditions and is disposed of with household waste.
