FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely otorhinolaryngology. An area in the middle of patient's forehead is exposed to ultrasound, and sound lateralisation is evaluated. Ultrasound frequency is 100 kHz with intensity gain. Stable sound lateralisation into a healthy ear enables diagnosing retrocochlear impairement, while sound lateralisation variation with intensity gain towards a poorly hearing ear shows the presence of latent recruitment.
EFFECT: method extends the range of products for differential diagnosis of the level of acoustic analyser impairment accompanying sensorineural hearing loss.
