FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed hob comprises teeth with profiling cutting edges on their sides in hob axial plane and non-profiling cutting edges at tooth top. Tooth rake face consists of two sections, one with profiling cutting edges and another one with non-profiling cutting edges shaped to plane located at positive face angle to hob axial plane crossing the tooth top, or to cylindrical surface, tangential to tooth face surface section with profiling cutting edges and crossing tooth top.
EFFECT: longer life, high precision of tooth cutting.
