FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the industry of structural materials and can be used to make brick for industrial and civil construction. The crude mixture for making brick consists of clay, a combustible additive and water. The combustible additive used is a water-hydrocarbon emulsion from treatment facilities of oil refineries containing 22-70 wt % water, with weight ratio of the clay to the water-hydrocarbon emulsion equal to 1:(0.09-0.33), and the amount of the added water is determined using the formula: X=q-0.01 q1·c, where q is the amount of water required to obtain a ductile clay mass equal to 18-20 wt %; q1 is the amount of water contained in the water-hydrocarbon emulsion, wt %; c is the amount of the water-hydrocarbon emulsion, wt %.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain high-quality brick with high mechanical strength, frost resistance and low fracturing.
