FIELD: fertilizers. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of organic fertilizer from petroleum slime. Proposed method for preparing organic fertilizer involves biological treatment of petroleum slime with the following destructive microorganisms: Candida tropicalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas desmolyticum taken in the ratio 4:5:1, respectively, decantation, addition of boric acid in the amount 2.8-4.9 wt.-% per treated mass, drying, extrusion and drying granules. Invention provides preparing valuable fertilizer with low content of petroleum products and high strength of granules from waste of petrochemical and petroleum processing plants.
