FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to grinding powdered materials, including explosives, used as charge for rocket engines and can be used in different industries. The method of producing a ground fraction of ammonium perchloroate involves feeding and grinding said ammonium perchlorate, separating into fractions, separating from air and depositing in cyclones. Ammonium perchlorate is fed into a jet mill by a feeding screw with capacity of 300 kg/h. The height of the ammonium perchlorate layer in the hopper over the inlet part of the feeding screw is kept not less than 100 mm. The ammonium perchlorate is fed by an air stream formed by two gas pumps for grinding into a grinding chamber, separated into fractions in a centrifugal classifier with linear rotational speed of 9.1 m/s and deposited in a storage drum. Air is returned into the jet mill for circulation.
EFFECT: recommended operating conditions of the jet mill enable to provide a safe method of producing a ground fraction of ammonium perchlorate in an air jet and prevent adsorption of moisture from air to obtain ammonium perchlorate particles with size less than 50 mcm on the level of 93±3%.
