FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method may be used for aiming an actuator of a forest machine manipulator at an object. The operator indicates position of a place of gripping or cutting of an object by a spot of a range finder beam. Simultaneously the operator measures distance to the object and angles of rotation of the range finder with further feed of the actuator to the object for gripping or cutting.
EFFECT: method reduces fatigability of an operator and increases efficiency of a forest machine.
