METHOD OF DETERMINING INDICATIONS FOR COSMETIC OPERATION ON FACE Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B5/107

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to plastic surgery in maxillofacial area. In order to determine indications for cosmetic operation on face linear measurements are performed: from nose bridge to the "flew" apex; from nose tip to "flew" apex; from chin symphysis to "flew" apex; from ear tragus apex to "flew" apex; from nose tip to the apex of displaced downward and medially block of tissues of infraorbital region on papillary line; from nose bridge area to the apex of displaced downward and medially block of tissues of infraorbital region on papillary line; from chin symphysis to the apex of displaced downward and medially block of tissues of infraorbital region on papillary line. Indices of measurements in horizontal and vertical position of patient are summed up and difference of obtained values of sums is determined. Examination is repeated after fixation of leads in mobile points of face. Index of mobility of face soft tissues is determined by formula: where: A is the sum of length of lines in vertical position; B is the sum of length of lines in horizontal position; C is the sum of lengths of lines with lead in vertical position; D is the sum of lengths of lines with lead in horizontal position; I is index of indications for surgery. If index value is lower than 95%, surgery is believed to be justified.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to estimate indications for cosmetic operation on face objectively due to application of quantitative parameter - index of indications for surgery.
