FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: manufacturing method of hollow items from aluminium alloys involves manufacture of a hollow semi-finished item, heat treatment in the form of hardening with further ageing for aluminium alloys strengthened by heat treatment or annealing for aluminium alloys not strengthened by heat treatment in the device for heat fixing throughout the length or the part of the length of semi-finished item. Heat fixing is performed on internal surface of semi-finished item by pressing the mandrel from hardened instrument steel that is heat-resistant at hardening temperature of strengthened aluminium alloys. Working diameter of mandrel is made based on possibility of assembling the mandrel with semi-finished item under normal conditions as to transient or press fits. Heat fixing of hollow semi-finished items from aluminium alloys strengthened by heat treatment can be performed during hardening and ageing processes.
EFFECT: maintaining geometrical shape of inner and outer diameters of semi-finished item within the limits of the specified accuracy during its heat treatment when using a mandrel.
