FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of ammunition for small arms. Flat round billet is obtained from rolled sheet from aluminum alloy with magnesium content of 4.5–6.5 wt.%. It is stamped to form a bowl-shaped semi-finished product. Semi-finished product is folded into a cap in a matrix with a lead-in part located at an angle. Stretching with wall thinning is performed to produce a hollow semi-finished product. At final transitions, drawing is carried out without interoperational annealing. Hardness variable along the height of the housing is obtained, which has a maximum value at the slope of the housing and smoothly decreases towards the bottom part. Semi-finished product edge is cut, recess is formed in bottom part for primer, seed holes are pierced, annealed and case neck is formed by crimping. Then semi-finished case product is coated with protective coating.
EFFECT: simplified manufacturing process of aluminum alloy case with preset hardness distribution for its stable functioning.
