The data medium includes a control information region for recording control information for controlling the recording status, and a user data region for recording user data. The user data region has at least one recording region. The recording session has such a configuration that it contains at least one recording region. The control information contains interval information with indication of the recording interval of the recording region and identification information for identifying the recording region lying on the boundary of the session, as well as array of record numbers of recorded recording regions, indicating the recorded recording region.
