SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the clock industry and is meant for controlling the movements of the display member of a timepiece, for example, for displaying at least one indication related to the time or operation of the timepiece. The display mechanism according to the invention has a cam having a periphery with a predetermined shape and driven by a base wheel, a lever pivotally mounted relative to a frame member of the clock mechanism, between an abutment position associated with an indication position of the display member, and a standby position associated with an alternative position of the display member. The lever has a tip intended for interaction with the periphery of the cam so as to define the abutment position, and the lever also has a rake engaged with a pinion for driving the display member. The mechanism includes a mobile control member having at least one stable standby and one stable indication position. The control member is intended for successive switching from one position to another in response to corresponding successive actions of a user and counteracting the action of elastic means exerting a force on said lever to position it into said abutment position, wherein the cam is adapted to be driven continuously, independently of the positions of said mobile control member and said lever which, coupled with the other features, provides the technical result.
EFFECT: invention enables replacement of one stable version of the display mechanism with another.
