FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Steel is poured in mould feeder head from ladle into ladle. In 5-10 s after metal feed cut, said mould is covered by heat insulation plate coated by heat-resistance ceramic composite. Said heat insulation plate is made from 10-20 mm-thick wood board. 2-10 mm-thick coating is applied on said board and made from heat-resistant composite produced by sol-gel technology.
EFFECT: decreased shrinkage cavity and ingot butt, ruled contamination of steel by scoria.
