FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: copolymer contains: a) repeating structural units which are derivatives of at least one isoolefin monomer, and b) repeating structural units which are derivatives of a halogenated comonomer of formula , where R1 and R2 denote an alkyl group with 1-20 carbon atoms, X denotes a bromine or chlorine atom. The method of producing a copolymer of isoolefin and a halogenated comonomer involves: a) preparing a mixture of an isoolefin monomer and a halogenated comonomer in form of a solution in a diluent for polymerisation, b) adding a cationic initiator to the mixture according to a semi-continuous scheme and c) reacting the monomers to form a polymer.
EFFECT: obtaining copolymers from isoolefins and halogenated comonomers using a simple method, producing vulcanised articles from said copolymers.
