FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of epoxidation of an unsaturated polymer. Method for epoxidation of an unsaturated polymer involves steps of mixing an unsaturated polymer in a solid state and peroxyacids in the absence of a solvent for about 10 minutes or less to obtain epoxidised polymer. At that, unsaturated polymer is non-halogenated butyl rubber, bromobutyl rubber, chlorbutyl rubber, butadiene rubber or styrene-butadiene rubber, and the peroxy acid is m-chloroperoxybenzoic acid.
EFFECT: technical result is providing conversion level of up to 100 % with short mixing time of epoxidation agent and unsaturated polymer.
