FIELD: chemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a halogenated polyisoolefin copolymer, an article containing same, and a method of producing a halogenated polyisoolefin copolymer. Said copolymer consists of at least one isoolefin monomer and at least one multiolefin monomer. Content of halogen is 0.05–2.5 mol %, and content of halogenated oligomer ranges from 2 to less than 65 % of total content of oligomer in halogenated polyisoolefin copolymer. Method of producing a halogenated polyisoolefin copolymer comprises copolymerizing a monomer mixture in the presence of an initiator system to obtain a polyisoolefin copolymer and oligomers, halogenation of the polyisoolefin copolymer to obtain a halogenated polyisoolefin copolymer and feeding the stabilizer to the polyisoolefin copolymer and/or halogenated polyisoolefin copolymer. Monomer mixture is a mixture of at least one isoolefin monomer and 5–20 wt % of at least one multiolefin monomer based on the weight of monomers in the mixture of monomers. Stabilizer is a mixture of a compound with lower critical temperature of dissolution (LCST compound) and metal carboxylate.

EFFECT: obtained copolymer has low content of halogen and significantly reduced levels of halogenated oligomers and can be used in pharmaceutical and food industries, for example, as sealants or clogging devices for pharmaceutical or food products.
