FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an universal lock (1) for doors opening to both sides, comprising a box-shaped body (2) for location of a propelling cylinder (3) in it, driven with an appropriate key, a rotary insert (4), connected with a handle, suitable lever systems (5) for linear displacement, at least one latch (6) and at least one bar (7), functionally connected with the handle and the cylinder (3), and a pin (9) protruding when displaced with an elastic transfer facility. Besides, at least one bar (7) is locked in an extended configuration, when the pin (9) protrudes, and is free for pull-in caused by external force, when the pin (9) is pressed for pulling-in, counteracting to displacement by the elastic transfer facility with the outer force. The lock comprises a facility for mechanical deactivation of the pin (9).
