SUBSTANCE: suction brush is proposed which is used in the vacuum cleaner, and the method of its height regulation. The suction brush comprises a housing having a suction opening for air indrawal and the main passage for air through which the air flows, drawn through the suction port; the detecting device located on the brush housing and designed to detect the type of surface being cleaned; the lifting device designed to move the lower surface of the brush housing closer and farther away from the surface being cleaned; and the drive unit operating in accordance with the signal generated by the detecting device, and moving lifting device, using the air pressure generated by air flowing through the main passage for air.

EFFECT: creation of suction brush with the ability of automatic regulation of the distance between the surface to be cleaned and the lower surface of the lower brush housing, and the suction opening is made in accordance with the type of the surface to be cleaned - carpet or hard floor.
