FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Steel article or thin steel strip is formed in casting machine from fused steel fed in gap between casting rolls. Steel article comprises the following components wt %: smaller than 0.25 of carbon, o.20-2.0 of manganese, 0.005-0.50 of silicon, smaller than 0.01 of aluminium, and, at least, one of such elements as niobium in amount of 0.01-0.20 wt % and vanadium on amount of 0.01-020 wt %. Article structure consists, mainly, of bainite and acicular ferrite, and over 70% of niobium and/or vanadium in solid solution. Aged steel article may contain niobium carbonitride with mean size of 10 nm and smaller and may nit contain particles of niobium carbonitride sized to over 50 nm. Steel article may feature yield strength equal to, at least, 340 MPa, tensile strength equal to at least 410 MPa, and elongation making, at least, 6% or 10%.

EFFECT: increased elongation and yield strength.
