SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preservatives containing complexes of salts of preservative metal compounds with organic hydroxyl acids and soluble boron compounds. Invention covers preservative and method of its production. Proposed method consists in selecting one precursor of metal salt consisting of (i) acid selected from gluconate, tartrate or carbonate, and (ii) metal selected form cobalt, iron, manganese, nickel, copper, zinc, and one organic acid including, at least, two hydrocarbon atoms, one carboxyl acid functional group and one hydroxyl functional group per molecule, preparing metal salt from precursor compound, and forming metal salt complex by adding boron-bearing compound to this end.

EFFECT: preservative for wood.
