FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: what is described is a bacterium producing L-arginine and L-citrulline belonging to the Escherichia species, modified so that pepA gene expression modifying aminopeptidase A is attenuated. What is presented is a method for producing L-amino acid specified in L-arginine and L-citrulline involving culture of said modified bacteria in a nutrient medium for production and secretion of said L-amino acid in a culture fluid and recovery of said L-amino acid from the culture fluid.
EFFECT: invention enables producing L-arginine and L-citrulline in the enlarged volume.
