FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of: during first and second key input phases (818, 820), transmitting (802) mechanical energy to an electrical generator using a cam which interacts with the key, and activating (810) the actuating mechanism mechanically using said cam; generating (804), through the electrical generator, electrical energy from mechanical energy; reading (806) data from an external source; matching (808) data with a given criterion; and, during the key removal phase (826), returning (815) the cam to the initial position and mechanically moving the actuating mechanism to a locking state.
EFFECT: reduced electric power consumption by the electromechanical lock owing to presence of means of generating electrical energy inside the lock.
