FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to road construction materials and can be used when paving roads, bridges and aerodromes in all climatic zones. The granular asphalt mix modifier contains vulcanised rubber and a composition of modifying components. The modifier is in form of granules with a linear dimension ranging from 3 to 15 mm and consists of binder, elastic polymer filler, a cross-linking and structure-forming agent, a mineral structural reinforcing filler and a surfactant - adhesive, with the following amount of components of granules (wt %): binder 20-40; elastic polymer filler 40-60; cross-linking and structure-forming agent 1-4; mineral structural reinforcing filler 5-20; surfactant - adhesive 2.0-4.5.
EFFECT: improved conditions of using the modifier without changing the standard technology and equipment for producing asphalt mix, including that used to introduce granular materials, as well as conditions for handling the modifier during storage and transportation and improved operational characteristics of the asphalt mix.
