FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention serves to increase durability of forming rolls incorporated with continuous cold-rolling mills. Proposed method comprises alternating roll operation with its regrinding and rearranging over mill stands with due allowance for specified losses of roll active layer an rolled metal yield point. Longer life of rolls results from selection of proper operating conditions, regrinding and rearrangement at stands with due allowance for yield point of steel rolled at five- or four-stand mills.
EFFECT: higher durability of rolls.
