FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an oily coating composition used to inhibit dust formation. The composition contains a byproduct of producing biodiesel fuel or a byproduct of transesterification reactions, containing triglycerides. The byproduct contains one or more C6-C24 fatty acids and salts of one or more C6-C24 fatty acids, where said salts are selected from a group consisting of sodium, lithium, potassium and magnesium salts. The composition also contains about 40% one or more methyl or ethyl esters of C6-C24 fatty acids and at least one chloride or sulphate of sodium, potassium, calcium or any combination thereof. The composition also contains one component selected from a group consisting of: a) a product of reacting an acid with a crude glycerol phase of the process of producing biodiesel fuel, b) a product of reacting an acid with a crude glycerol phase of transesterification reactions containing triglycerides, c) a crude phase of alkyl esters of fatty acids of the process of producing biodiesel fuel, and d) a crude phase of alkyl esters of fatty acids of transesterification reactions containing triglycerides.

EFFECT: coating composition is cost effective, is obtained from renewable sources and is environmentally safe.
