FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: articulated coupling comprises drive and driven shafts. Driven shaft end is composed of spherical tip while drive shaft end is shaped to spherical seat embracing spherical tip and clearance to accommodate transitional elements. Spherical seat consists of two parts divided by diametral split point in plane perpendicular to drive shaft axis and interconnected by fastener. Said transitional elements are composed of four spherical segments interconnected by said surfaces. Spherical tip stays in contact with inner surfaces of segments to slide thereon while outer surfaces of segments stay in contact with spherical seat inner surface to slide thereon in skewing of shafts. One pair of opposite segments is articulated with spherical tip while another pair of opposite segments is articulated with spherical seat.
EFFECT: transfer of increased torques.
