FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: access point is configured based on signals received from one or more access point via a direct link. The access point is an access point with a relatively small coverage area and/or an access point which is deployed by a situational method. The access point can determine its location based on signals received from several neighbouring macro access points. Access point timing can be synchronised with timing indicated by signals received from one or more neighbouring access points.
