FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: in the method to lock and open a lock by means of key insertion into a key hole, fixation of a key code, connection of a lock crossbar drive and installation of the crossbar into a locking or an opening position, executed with a key rotation depending on direction of its motion, and key withdrawal from the key hole after locking or opening of the lock is achieved by the fact that after fixation of the key code as the key rotates, the key code is memorised without the possibility to change any element of the code, an interlock is disconnected in a device for comparison of the memorised key code with the lock code, then during further rotation of the key the memorised key code is compared with the lock code, and in case codes match, motion is sent to the lock crossbar drive. The lock comprising a body, in which a cylinder mechanism is installed, a memorising device of a key code without the possibility of changing any element of the code and the device for comparison of the memorised key code with the lock code.

EFFECT: higher criminalistic resistance of locking and opening of a lock as a result of elimination of the possibility of lock opening by skeleton keys.
