SUBSTANCE: group of devices includes an image forming apparatus which includes: a light-sensitive element drive unit, having a configuration which enables to rotate the light-sensitive element; a charging unit, having an opening opposite the surface of the light-sensitive element and having a configuration which enables to charge the surface of the light-sensitive element; a shielding element which is configured to move between a closed position for closing the opening and an open position for opening the opening; a shielding element drive unit, having a configuration which enables to move the shielding element between the closed position and the open position; and a control unit, having a configuration which enables to control the light-sensitive element drive unit in order to rotate the light-sensitive element in a state wherein the shielding element is in an open position, and in order to prevent rotation of the light-sensitive element in a state wherein the shielding element is in a closed position. The control unit displays an error indication on a display unit which is provided on the image forming apparatus when the control unit cannot determine that the shielding element is in an open position, even when a predetermined time runs out after the control unit begins to actuate the shielding element drive unit in order to move the shielding element to an open position.

EFFECT: design of an image forming apparatus in which the interference of the shielding element on the light-sensitive element when moving the latter is eliminated.
