SUBSTANCE: image forming apparatus has a first and a second image carrier, first and second image forming units which form an image on the first and second image carriers, respectively, first and second electric motors which rotate the first and second image carriers, respectively, first and second detection units which detect angular speed or circumferential speed of each of the first and second image carriers, respectively, first and second feedback units which control rotation of the first and second electric motors, respectively, with feedback, in accordance with the detection result from the first and second detection units, determination apparatus configured to determine the image forming mode, and a control unit which sets the feedback coefficient for controlling feedback based on the determined image forming mode.
EFFECT: reduced colour misregistration and reduced banding.
