SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in communication systems with multiple inputs and outputs using orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM). In transmitter for every one or more data flows, a certain transmission mode is chosen with spacing to be used from several possible transmission modes. Those transmission modes can include a transmission mode with spacing as to frequency, transmission mode with Walsh spacing and transmission mode with spatial and time spacing of transmission (STST). Each transmission mode with spacing transmits the data with redundancy as to time, frequency, in space or their combinations. Each data flow is coded and modulated so that modulation symbols can be provided, which are processed in addition based on the chosen transmission mode with spacing to provide the transmission symbols. For OFDM, transmission symbols for all data flows are modulated in addition by means of OFDM to provide a flow of transmission symbols for each transmitting antenna used for data transmission.
EFFECT: increasing carrying capacity and improving the reliability owing to using a variety of transmission modes.
