FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroabrasive cutting of metal sheets. Metal sheet or jet burner is fed. Metal sheet cutting zone is heated by external focused spot heater to temperature lower than the metal sheet phase transformation temperature. Then, impact is delivered by high-pressure hydroabrasive jet flowing from jet head onto metal sheet. Note here that time interval between spot heating and hydroabrasive jet imp-act makes 2…30 s.
EFFECT: higher cutting rate, decreased jet pressure and peening.
