FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to indicator intended for supporting aircraft takeoff or landing. Proposed method comprises defining flight altitude by onboard altimeter and using human visual apparatus. Pilot defines the altitude of aircraft crossing runway approach edge and azimuth deviation from runway axis using video cameras mounted on undercarriage main rear landing gear. Aircraft is leveled above landing surface using video cameras arranged on undercarriage left and right rear landing gears. Moment of landing and spot of landing on runway are determined by beginning of wheels rotation and appearance of burn rubber smoke. Proposed device comprises video cameras mounted on telescoping supports and connected with crew cabin display. At least, one camera is mounted on rear landing gear.
EFFECT: higher efficiency at landing with direct contact with airfield.
