SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a [¹⁸F]fluoride solution, involving: (1) bringing a [¹⁸F]fluoride solution in water into contact with a cryptand bound to a solid support of formula (I): linker-cryptand (I), at pH lower than 5, to form a cryptand-[¹⁸F]fluoride complex of formula (II): solid support-linker-cryptand ¹⁸F^- (II), removing excess water from the cryptand-[¹⁸F]fluoride complex of formula (II); (3) washing the cryptand-[¹⁸F]fluoride complex of formula (II) with a solution of a base having pKa of at least 9 in order to free [¹⁸F]fluoride into the solution. The invention also relates to a [¹⁸F]radiofluorination method using said technique, as well as a compound and apparatus for realising said method.

EFFECT: invention provides an efficient method of treating [¹⁸F]fluoride which enables rapid trapping and elution of [¹⁸F]fluoride from water which contains a target.
