FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to field of agriculture, in particular, to agricultural chemistry. In the method potatoes are enriched with iodine by means of agronomic techniques. Iodine-containing composition is applied on plants. Said composition includes solution of iodine compound with content of iodine within the range from 0.01 to 50%, 5% phosphorus pentoxide and 12% of potassium oxide. Iodine compound solution includes, at least, one of compounds iodide or iodate of potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, ammonium, zinc, copper, barium, cesium, iodine dioxide, periodic acid, hydroiodic acid, methyl iodide. Composition for enrichment of potatoes with iodine includes iodine compound solution, with content of iodine within the range from 0.01 to 50%, 5% phosphorus pentoxide and 12% of potassium oxide. Enriched by claimed method potatoes are characterised by content of iodine, at least, 25 mcg per 100 g of potatoes.
EFFECT: inventions make it possible to obtain potatoes with increased iodine content with unchanged organoleptic properties.
